The mid-year audit you actually need

Six months into the year. You've looked at your numbers, tracked progress/ success... but can you name what it cost you to get it?
Last week on Linkedin I called out something pretty controversial... that got loads of action!
I said burnout has become the new buzzword. Overused and for many misused, yet by saying it creates the experience.
Here is the part that matters more.
That feeling underneath it. Pressure up, tank low, everything on the list feeling like it has to happen. Most founders treat that as something to push through.
It's not a push-through moment. It's a review moment.
Feeling at capacity isn't proof you're failing at something everyone else is managing. It's information. The load has outgrown the January (new year) plan
And here is the thing about that January plan. It was written by a version of you who no longer exists.
She hadn't done the six months you've just done. Life kept lifeing and it's been a pretty destabilising year as a globe, let along what's happened at a micro level in your world.
By mid year, the Jan focuses left unchecked can be running an invisible pressure… a list of to do's that are running your weeks.
Every task on it earning its place by default, not by decision.
So, this July, audit the load, not just the budgets. By using my mid year reflection questions below.
These help you truly evaluate, what’s important right now, what's aligned in your business, vs what’s not. What’s leading the pressure and needs to be evolved?
The exact questions I use with my clients, and on my own business.
The second half of the year doesn't need you to push harder. It needs you to decide what you're no longer carrying and streamline what’s truly important not just for the numbers but for you as the key asset in your business.
It’s not always the same questions, but these are my core go to!
YES, the list looks long and it means taking the time to do them... but I promise you will get the answers to not just grow the business but do it in a way that is more aligned.
What have you done well this year so far?
What are you proud of?
What experiences brought you the most personal reward?
Where did most of your growth actually come from?
Who or what supported it, and helped you increase revenue?
What hasn't worked?
What's felt less energising?
What decision have you been delaying?
What's the thought underneath it, the one you haven't said out loud?
What can you learn from this?
What did you spend time on that grew nothing and energised no one?
What do you want more of for the second half of the year?
How do you want to feel?
What's your version of success right now, not last year's version?
Save this and block time in your coming weeks to do this. Share the question that really landed for you.
