Nine Years to Find the Most Incredible Relationship of my Life

From this weeks coaching desk:

I was on a call with the women in one of my group programs.

One of them had gone quiet for a moment, and then said the thing I think every founder thinks at some point and rarely says out loud.

“I have been working so hard. And I am still not where I want to be.”

She had put in the work. Genuinely. Proposals out. Conversations had. Groundwork laid for months. And her read on all of it was simple. None of it is working.

I stopped her there.

Because a few weeks earlier, several of those proposals had actually landed. Opportunities were already in motion. The evidence was there. She just was not seeing it.

Here is what I told her. When one thing goes quiet, one deal stalls, one week feels slower than the last, we tend to put a pair of glasses on without noticing. And once they are on, everything gets filtered through them. Nothing is working becomes the only thing we can see, even while the thing we are asking for is already underway.

I have watched this exact pattern in a client whose team member resigned. One resignation. Ordinary, part of running a business with people in it. But it triggered a belief she carried about being a failure, and for weeks, every single thing that happened got read through that lens. Because the glasses were on.

Take the glasses off, and it was never black and white. It was a narrative we were applying to the evidence, not the evidence itself.

She asked me then how I sit in that kind of not knowing. How I hold patience when I cannot see the outcome yet.

I told her about the nine years it took me to find the most incredible relationship of my life.

Nine years.

Not nine years of nothing happening. Nine years of things unfolding in an order and a timing I could not have controlled or predicted, most of which I could not see the point of while I was in it.

Patience is not passive. It is not waiting with your arms crossed hoping it works out. It is staying in motion while trusting that the timing is not yours to dictate.

If you are in a stretch right now where the effort feels enormous and the results feel invisible, I want you to ask yourself one honest question. What is the evidence that things are actually moving, that you have filtered out because of the story you are currently wearing.

It is probably there. Most of the time, it is.

Email and tell me what you find when you go looking for it.

With love, Mira

PS. If you are in that stretched place where you cannot tell anymore what is actually working, the 360 Business Clarity Session is where we take the glasses off together. Just you and me, ninety minutes, one clear next move.
